Luckily running is one exercise that’s very catchy and makes you feel refreshed after you’re done.  You’ll have more energy constantly and a feeling of confidence that can’t be put into words.  If you’re just starting to run then here are some tips you should try.  Following these tips will help to keep you motivated and help you to avoid injury at the same time.

Get The Equipment

Running doesn’t require much to do, but you’ll be doing yourself a big favor by picking up  a couple items.  Fist you’ll need a good pair of running shoes that offer you support and are made just for running.  Your legs and muscles will be going through a lot of pressure as you’re running so you want a good pair of shoes that won’t tear up your feet.  You may want to go into a sporting store and get advice on the best running shoe for you.  While you’re there, pick up a pedometer if you’re going to be running outside.

Keep a Running Journal

Keeping a journal about your running progress will help you to stay on track with your goals.  You’ll also get a motivation kick when you read past entries and see the progress you’re making.  You don’t have to write long posts, and it will significantly help you to stay motivated.

Early Mindset

When you’re just starting out it’s important to keep your focus on the time you’re running instead of the distance.  If you only think about the distance you’ve run it can seem like you aren’t accomplishing much.  Instead keep track of how long you’re running, and naturally you’ll start running faster and have more distance is your runs.

Find A Partner

There’s nothing sissy about getting a buddy to go running with you.  You’ll be getting in great shape, and it will help you with your dating and confidence levels.  It will also help you stay motivated when you don’t feel like the only person on the planet trying to get in shape.  The time will go faster by talking with someone else and in general it will make your running time more enjoyable.
